ILLUMINATION CHALLENGE 100 — DAY 33
Daily Writing Challenge 30-Day Recap
Happy Milestones & Small Wins
Today marks day 33 of my 100-day writing challenge and the results have already been spectacular, so wanted to share them publicly. Hopefully, this will inspire others to join and motivate writers who feel despondent with their Medium incomes!
Congratulations!
First of all, it feels amazing to have come this far without breaking the chain! I believe it is important to celebrate small wins, so I am giving myself a big pat on the back just for accomplishing the 30-day milestone.
Once the initial euphoria wore off, I definitely had some hard days around day 10 (lack of time/ideas/motivation/etc), but I am so glad I persevered!
Shout out to Misbah Ul Haq Syed and Niru for reading my stories and motivating me on this journey!
Hat tip to Dr Mehmet Yildiz for creating this brilliant challenge.
Stats Don’t Lie
The statistics have been quite positive too! These numbers may look tiny for some, but my competition is with myself. My aim was progress and I am delighted to keep up my momentum.

- Curation rate steady at 30%; 11 out of 32 stories have been chosen for further distribution. In the past year, I only had one story out of 50+ that went for curation, so this is a huge win!
- Income has quadrupled from $3 (monthly average) to $7 in April and over $16 in May, which I expect will double by month-end, of which one story alone accounts for $10 already. My best story last year did $9, so this is awesome!
- Added 50 followers. I barely had 700 followers when I started so it's a good chunk in percentage points.
- Improved my writing process. Moved from 900 words per hour to 4000+ using the IVANA method. Details in a future post for sure!
- My daily views, reads, and fans increased 4x in the 30-day period. See the image below. All those articles about creating a large body of work (backlog) of views are 100% TRUE!

Book Ideas
The best bonus of this challenge has been writing articles on the topic of leadership. I compiled my articles and I already have material for 80% of my next book. Without this challenge, I might have never gotten this far! Furthermore, the engagement on those blog posts validates the book idea, and gave me excellent feedback for the eventual book launch!
If you have book ideas or had a lackluster launch for some reason, try posting the chapters on Illumination sister publication for book chapters! There are some amazing stories out there… I am following is Avantika’s story by master storyteller Niru
Thank You, Dear Readers!
In conclusion, ecstatic about the small wins and progress so far! Hoping to finish up the full 100 days.
A big thank you to all my readers — this would not have been possible without you! :)
Until Next Time, Adieu!
