“Daily Desire: I Desire To Begin Again”
Simple steps for starting over when you’re feeling discontent

Despite starting at the bottom of the mountain, despite standing alone at the base, your eyes on the prized peak, remember you are exactly where you need to be.
The snail is unaware of the mountainside it happens to be e v e r s o slowly ascending.
This life is a process, a journey between “here” and “there.” It isn’t about the final destination. However, you define here and there as focal points in time. Let this be a reminder to be fully in the process, in the moment, with those who are already right in front of and beside you rather than dashing to arrive, in an imaginary place. The grass is not greener on the other side. It’s greener wherever you choose to water it.
The only truth is what is right in front of you. Is it a fully conscious choice?
Filling the empty spaces in your mind with busy-work doesn’t always equal fulfillment. Sometimes your entire day is filled with distraction.
Snacking.
Updating your social media.
Hiding from friends, or the opposite, always surrounded by friends.
Chores & tidying up.
The list goes on.
The feeling of discontent when you “aren’t there yet” and discontent when you “want to be somewhere else” pervades your life. We’re all guilty of it.
Wanting to control the speed, depth, and duration of an outcome is common. It reinforces a feeling of safety and what you know. It also allows you to plan accordingly. If it feels like you have a sense of agency in your life.
On the flip side, it keeps you on an eerily similar storyline and experience in life. I hope you’re enjoying your current plot.
Beginning again is not about quitting.
It is about feeling your innate desires and willpower merging as one, focusing on a goal and taking intentional, deliberate steps towards your goal. While also remaining receptive to what you don’t know, pivoting and making as many re-adjustments as needed. Being kind to yourself. Realize this life is not a linear projection, but rather an infinite cycle, a wave form.
Try submitting to this wildly uncertain, exciting unknown.
Begin again.
What does your relationship to starting over, or beginning again, look like? What are some moves (and pauses) you’ve made in order to begin again? How have you begun writing a storyline that suits your truest essence? Gives you a sense of purpose and fulfillment? Brings you a feeling of expansiveness? You never know who you might inspire with your words, your story. Who will be moved by your truth?
