With this data, there are a few more things to note.

  1. I have been publishing every day for two weeks. I currently have 18 stories. I wouldn’t say this data pool is big enough to make any conclusions about the best day or time to publish.
  2. 3/4 times, my articles had their best day within 4 days. Even after their peak, they still get decent views.
  3. I put a friend link on all my stories. In these 4 stories, those links were used 25 times. How neat!

Just for transparency’s sake, these are my 4 worst performing stories:

All of these stories came from my first week on Medium. It makes sense they haven’t gotten much traction. I’ll leave it at that since my growth is a factor here.

Stories published when I had 10 followers had one-tenth the potential audience as stories I published at 100.

For now, I’d say my data pool is still too small to make any definitive conclusions. However, I know many of you are new accounts. I hope this look at my performance gives you a benchmark for your own.

Since I preach competition research, I’ve made a list of my best 4 stories for you to study:

I hope you find something useful!
