Ukraine Cyber Attacks on Russian Institutions

Will it help or hinder Ukraine to P155-off the Russian population?

So far…

Russia has held back from serious cyber attacks on ‘the West’.

How do we know?

Well, if the attacks had been successful we’d have seen ATM and banking networks, social media and other everyday staples of our lifestyle being affected.

And if Russia had already attacked and failed then ‘Western’ governments would have been shouting it from the rooftops.

So far, Putin has only used his cyber weapons for probing. He knows that a full-on cyber assault would be have unpredictable consequences.

But in Ukraine he has tried everything cyber.

And Ukraine is attacking too

The question is…

Will Ukrainian cyber tactics help or hinder long-term? Ukraine’s fighting for its very survival and all’s fair etc.

But will it strengthen Putin’s hand internally in Russia?

Time will tell.
