Cute Smiling Bear at Farmer’s Market

November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Collecting Smiles”

Smiling bear to make everyone smile

This photo was taken last year in Idaho in October, shortly before my first grandbaby was born. We visited the local farmer’s market on a Saturday to pick up some fresh produce and enjoy the day.

It was a crisp fall day, and we walked in the warm sunshine to see what people were selling. One booth had a lot of honey products and this cute little smiling bear, which made us all smile.

When I was growing up in Idaho, a man used to keep his bee traps on our farm, so I got used to seeing a lot of bee friends. They are perfectly safe as long as no one is messing with them and everyone leaves them alone to do their thing.

We also got lots of free honey. I do miss those days a lot sometimes.

This is a written response to Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles. Thanks for the great prompt:

See my other “oops” response: “After a Spirited Fright, Hubby Makes Me Smile”.

And thank you to Mary Chang Story Writer, for the great publication:

Since becoming a pub editor myself, I feel like I haven’t had as much time to enjoy other publications as I used to. Who knew it would be so much work and such a labor of love. But I do love it.

November is my month of gratitude. It’s always so easy to forget to stop and be thankful. But I certainly am. Thankful for Medium and all the great writers on this platform. Thankful for pubs that help bring us all together.
