Print-on-demand companies print, prepare, and then ship your items as orders are placed (no need for inventory!).</p><p id="e275">I never moved forward with opening a store, but plan to someday — when more free time exists than the one-hour nap my toddler takes!</p><p id="079b">All right, back to how I learned to make this. 😆</p><p id="622c">YouTube tutorials were my go-to for comparing print-on-demand companies, but I learned of Gelato from an advertisement that boasted about the variety of items they have available to customize and sell. You can also make and purchase items for yourself. Custom Canvas Wall Art using Canva, Gelato, and YouTube tutorials

This unique custom gift cost me only $15.96 (shipping included) to make!

Ah, the fun I would have in making this beautiful canvas wall art piece in true D-I-Y fashion!

You know — starting with a blank canvas, covering it in Mod-podge, transferring a photograph onto the canvas, making a stencil for the quote, painting the quote with a sponge or brush.

But my current reality — devoting my every waking moment to being a present and loving mom — only allows for daydreams of having time and ability for such lovely hands-on crafts.

Picture my toddler trying to “help.” Yeah.

So, I came up with a creative alternative and made a unique and special gift for my dear friends who were grieving the loss of their daughter. I just love how it turned out!

I had wanted to make them something beautiful they could use or see every day, and I came across a quote that perfectly reflected the fact that they had many beautiful memories of their life with her to hold onto.

I enjoy creating quote art (graphics like ones you see posted on social media) using a free graphic design platform called Canva.

You can design nearly anything with Canva, even without having design “skills.”

Note, their platform does offer a paid Pro Account (if you have the free account and want to use a graphic element only available to Pro members, you can purchase those for one-time use instead of signing up for the Pro membership).

YouTube tutorials are to thank for nearly everything I know about designing in Canva. I also took a course I purchased on Udemy.
