Indigo cherry is a part of tomato family, but its taste is similar to that of plum and you can cultivate it at home. It is an amazing fact that there was no concept of Indigo Cherry Drops a few years ago.

It is one of the latest efforts of Professor Jim Myers and his team, belonging to the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University in the USA.

After a decade of research, they came up with the creation of Indigo Cherry Drops nearly in late 2011.

Indigo Cherry Drops possess anthocyanin, which is responsible for purplish pigment in them.

Its seeds are similar to tomato seeds. The suitable temperature for seeds sowing is below 25 degree Celsius approximately.

The ideal time for their sowing is the month of October, or whenever the summer starts. If you have limited space, seeds can be sown in cups, trays or pots.

You can add compost over the seeds. The container should be put under shade to keep the soil moist, till the growth of leaves. The seeds start germinating within two weeks, depending upon seeds quality, water property, and the quality of soil.

The Indigo Cherry Drops can also be propagated with stem cuttings in the month of Febraury. Many are of the view that plants grown with stem cuttings result in rapid growth as compared to those grown with seeds sowing.

You can take its branch from your friends or family members if they have it at their home.
