💯 STORY CHALLENGE
Cuckoo Girl
№ 8 of 💯 Story Challenge in 💯 words: To some, the best way to live is to wander.
Hotel rooms, guesthouses, B&B’s, stations and airports. She’s in a continuous state of transit. She loves to occupy a room in somebody else’s house. Like a cuckoo, admiring the shiny objects in such places but without an emotional connection, which makes her feel at ease. With people, she acts no different. Paradoxically, this makes her attractive, but she never allows others to get too close. Remaining detached is key.
Cuckoos leave their eggs behind in the nests of others, but leaving something tangible behind scares her. To her, the truth of this world lies in its transient nature. Everything flows.

Thanks to Zane Dickens for triggering me to take on this challenge (and the divider pic) and Paul Mansfield for suggesting the 100 words restriction.
