Cryptocurrencies are slowly finding interest among women investors

A survey shows that 1 in 3 women in America has plans to invest in cryptocurrencies during 2022 - this is one of the conclusions of BlockFI’s “Real Talk: Women x Crypto 2.0”.
With a reach of 1,031 female Americans, the survey conducted in late January shed light on a number of interesting tendencies:
- Women favor long-term investments in opposition to short-term trades.
- About 45% of the women inquired are well versed in how to buy crypto.
- Around 24% already own crypto to some extent.
- Bitcoin, Doge and Ethereum are, by order of preference, the favorite coins.
The next great leg of adoption in crypto might very well be due to the shortening of the gender gap representation.
Currently estimated at plus 300 million users, the crypto adoption is expected to rise to as much as 1 billion by the end of 2022, says Crypto.com Research.
Women are accounted to represent around 5% of the current crypto investors, compared to the traditional equities market where they represent nearly 25% of the total amount of investors, according to a study conducted by BitMEX.
Despite the cryptocurrencies market becoming more mainstream by the year, there is still a tremendous gap in the curve of adoption by gender, but increased representation is bound to happen fast as recent studies show.
A survey conducted in Norway by Arcane Research and Ernst & Young shows that crypto ownership among Norwegian women doubled, as the Scandinavian country mirrors global trends.
The online survey worked with a focus group of 1,000 women and verified that crypto ownership had a staggering surge from 3% in early 2021, to 6% in late March 2022.
As crypto institutional adoption surges and the gender gap representation among retail decreases, it is fair to assume that as long as we are in a bull run, the market cap of the crypto industry will bounce and reach new all-time highs.
If you like this article and find the data available important, consider sharing it with those who are still reluctant about cryptocurrencies and see crypto as a small niche market. Thanks.
