Cry From a ‘Nearly’ Broken-Heart
A poem inspired by the song, 'Pasoori'

in the solace of the near-broken heart, I cry for you, my love, on the verge of our heart-broken depart,
my love, why do you want to leave, your warmth is all I desire, even if the fruit of your love is poison, I will drink it gladly, and will burn the distance in fire,
let's meet once again, my love, and let me clasp you in my loving embrace, while I hid the discomfort of losing you, and hold you tight,
our distance will not reign our fondness, don't let it slowly burn me, rather let's go away in tendered hearts of our own,
but if you go away, I hope you fall in love and break your heart like me in pain.
Poem inspiration: 'Pasoori,' song from Coke Studio Pakistan, Season 14
For the last week, I've been obsessed with the beautiful music 'Pasoori' from Coke Studio Pakistan, Season 14.
I'm hooked!
The beats and the synced music to loved, touched emotions on words all caught me while listening! Ali Sethi is undoubtedly one of the top performers from Pakistani music, who includes a diverse range of music, and add-ins to bring variety to the taste of music. But, for me, in this song, Shae Gill was just phenomenal. Her voice was magical and awe-inspiring at the same time. Great to see talents like her coming from an Instagram background, thanks to social media!
And the cinematography was top-notch, from the beginning to end, representing the enriched cultural touch on the song and the influence of cross-border music (a hint of Turkic, Indic, Arab, Persian, in a hybrid genre). It included ethnicity, emotion, style, and spirituality, in the lover's tone.
