CRUSH HUNDO EDITION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Thank you for taking an interest in our HUNDO’s. This has become quite the project and as such we want to make sure that everyone understands the expectations for submitting to the publication.
The purpose of the HUNDO’s is to help writers hone their craft. In an ideal world, it’s a 100-word micro-story. We, however, do not limit you to these 100 words. We want you to be creative and express yourself however you wish. These HUNDO’s are meant to be fun and that’s how we want to keep them. Each of the words are picked on Tuesday night for the next seven days. They will be posted at 9pm central time each evening on the Crush Twitter account @crushpub, please follow this. The Crush Publication Feature writer along with the Crush editors (Skylar & Sunny) choose the words for the week.
Each HUNDO needs to incorporate the word of the day. This means using that word in your story, or writing about that word, in some fashion. We want everyone to use that same theme each day. If you miss a day and want to submit a ‘catch up HUNDO’ that is allowed. We will gladly publish your post late. There is no time limit. Just note if you submit more than one post a day because of this, your catch-up post will be posted after other daily HUNDOs to ensure we don’t hit our metered publishing count early.

Requirements:
1) Please ‘follow’ this publication. The purpose of this is to help ensure our authors all benefit from the multiplier that Medium provides when we follow the publication that the story is read from. We want to SUPPORT each other as much as we can. This is a community project to help all of us and this is an easy thing to do for one another.
2) Please follow @crushpub (at a minimum) on Twitter. Editors: @quinnskylar23 & @sunnyamorgan1 as well. This is so we can communicate if there are issues.
3) Submit one HUNDO post per word. There is a limit of how many stories can be published in one day by editors, that limit is 50. And there are times we are publishing over 50 HUNDO posts a day. This will allow everyone the opportunity to submit. You’re welcome to do more than one HUNDO inside the same post.
4) You MUST use the tag “HUNDO” with each post. You’re welcome to use other tags for the 4 remaining spots. If HUNDO is not listed, I will delete one of your tags at random and add this.
5) All posts must fall within the writing guidelines of Medium. We are all adults and we trust that you can read Medium’s guidelines and adhere to their policies.
6) We ask that you add any trigger warnings at the top of your HUNDO if you’re discussing a topic that could be deemed sensitive. Also, all characters MUST be over the age of 18 for ANY sexual content. Even if it is a true memory.
7) We will not edit your posts at all. Please ensure you’ve properly edited it before submitting.
8) Your HUNDO needs a Medium appropriate photo with proper citation.
9) Please submit your HUNDO for the day prior to 9pm central time. All submissions after 9pm central time will be scheduled for the following morning. HUNDO’s are released at 8am central time every day in the order they were submitted.
10) Please comment with your Medium username on this post saying you agree to all of these requirements.
Suggestion:
Crush Publication is building a brand that we want known for supporting everyone in the writing community. We know that there is no way everyone could possibly read all the HUNDOs daily that are published, but we ask that each day you take the time to read a handful of your fellow authors. We are doing this to hone our craft and feedback is appreciated. There are a lot of authors that are using this exercise to grow their stories and flesh out details. Again, we are a community and want to support each other. Skylar and Sunny try to read each HUNDO published but don’t expect everyone to. We do expect you to support your fellow authors in some capacity. Clap, comment, highlight and share are easy ways to show others you’re part of that supportive community. Remember, with any social media outlet, the more you interreact, the more interactions you will receive.
Meta at the bottom of your post:
The HUNDO’s are great for exposure. It would benefit you if you wanted to add your links at the bottom of your posts so readers can see more of what you do. This is just a suggestion and is in no way a requirement. We have just seen many posts with nothing after the last words and want to make sure you knew about this potential for marketing.
