Prompt #53: Learning New Skills
Learning new skills can help keep our minds and bodies active as we age. For some, retirement has presented the opportunity to explore new skills while for others, learning new skills happened mostly during working years or parenting. It can be difficult to learn a new skill as we get older, but oftentimes the rewards are worth the struggle. With that in mind:
Do you seek out new skills to learn? Why or why not? Have you found learning new skills to be more difficult as you’ve aged? If so, how have you overcome that obstacle? Have you learned more or fewer new skills in the last decade compared to the rest of your life? What new skill has given you the greatest sense of accomplishment? What new skill has been the most valuable to you? If you find you aren’t enjoying the learning process, do you let go of learning that skill or do you power through until you’ve become somewhat adept at it?
Let us know about your experiences and help us all find new skills to learn.
- a kicker is text above the title. To create a kicker, type the kicker text in the title field, then highlight the text, and select the small T icon. Hit ‘enter’, type out your title, highlight your title text and select the large T icon. This will allow for a kicker, title, and subtitle for your story.
