making ready for winter

Scarlet leaf stays long On fertile ground where trees bow In breezes steady,

Squirrels scamper round Maples roots or flowers Withered in the rain,

Honeyed sunlit groves Fill with saplings and acorns While creatures gather,

A pumpkin patch Is an adventure for deer Making selections.
