Creating From Chaos

We’ve all made it through the first half of 2020 and what a ride it has been!

Many of us have been through challenges and felt breakthroughs in the previous six months. In the blink of an eye our lives have changed exponentially.

Looking at it from above it looks like chaos and on the ground it still looks like chaos.

“You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.” — Friedrich Nietzsche

Rather than trying to keep up with all that’s going on, there are creative steps can we take in the dance of life.

Have you thought about what you can create from all that looks like chaos?

Regardless of what life seems to be and feels like, we can choose to see this time as an opportunity to follow our genius and create gold.

Here are some creative ideas to help you practice making the most of the rest of this year.

Begin with relationships.

“Understanding of the self only arises in relationship, in watching yourself in relationship to people, ideas, and things; to trees, the earth, and to the world around you and within you. Relationship is the mirror in which the self is revealed. Without self-knowledge there is no basis for right thought and action.” — Jiddu Krishnamurti

Everything in your life begins and ends with you. Your choices matter whether they’re on purpose or by default.

How do you relate with yourself? By extension then, how do you relate with others? Consider those two questions and apply the following points:

  • Get to know yourself — many people struggle daily in a life they’re unsatisfied with because they either don’t know how to begin to make it better, or because they don’t truly know themselves and what they really want.

Choose to take the time and start getting to know yourself better and do one thing a day just for you.

  • What do you want — sit down and list everything you want to create this year. Write the story of how you want your 2020 to turn out.

Then look at what is required to begin the process of building your next chapter?

You don’t have to completely change your life. Just decide to do ONE intentional act that could move you in the direction you choose.

One small step is all it takes. One repeated step builds momentum.

  • Release the past — we all have something from our past that we’d like to overcome. Understanding how our past has impacted our present is important, yet, getting to the place of feeling grateful for that past is genius.

Healing from past hurts, disappointments, pain, etc. is a process. It’s not done overnight, however, it’s one that cannot even be measured for it’s life-changing benefits. This is the true essence of healing.

Be kind and patient with yourself as you begin this process.

  • Look at what you think about — many of us focus on the past, creating depression, or we focus on the future, creating anxiety.

Your thoughts send a signal to your body telling it how to feel. So decide how you want to feel daily. Then look at whether your thoughts match that.

If you feel accomplished, you will work at achieving more. If you feel worthy of what you work towards, you will receive more.

Conversely, if you feel victimized, you will be taken advantage of. If you are judgemental, you will be judged.

Focus this week on how you feel daily.

  • Understand others — once we get to know and understand ourselves better, we can begin to understand others more intimately.

We’re all part of one powerful source with over 7.5 billion different perspectives. What if we could know ourselves so well that we didn’t feel threatened by another’s opinions or ideas and didn’t always have to be “right”?

We all have a story. Too often we only listen in order to speak.

Take a day this week just to listen to understand.

Another person’s perspective is just as valid as yours and can if fact build upon your own perspective.

This can create a more peaceful, tolerant world.

Do it with kindness, for yourself, and with an open heart.

Remember, you have genius within you.

Whether you create on purpose or by default is a choice, what will you choose?

You have the opportunity to actively participate in your life. Imagine the freedom and the relief in that!

This requires you to develop your connection to what you want, how you feel, how you think, and the actions you take.

Invest in yourself to build the best version of you.

Sometimes the parts of you that hold you back require cleansing before you can create constructively.

We hear so much about releasing toxins physically, we forget about the energetic toxins we hold onto.

Don’t let that cleansing stop you from creating.

Your story is in your hands.

You have what it takes.

Keep going.
