Cowboys Expected to Sign Mike Zimmer as Defensive Coordinator
Dallas Cowboys bring back a familiar face

Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is expected to be the next defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. Zimmer worked on the Cowboys staff from 1994–2006 and served as the defensive coordinator for seven years.
The Dallas Cowboys have been searching for a defensive coordinator since Dan Quinn left to take the head coaching job for the Washington Commanders.
Can Mike Zimmer Turn Things Around?
Hopefully, Zimmer can teach a talented defense how to stop the run. The Cowboys receive a lot of unnecessary hype each year by beating up on terrible teams, but they always get kicked in the mouth when it matters the most.
Zimmer is more of a tough-minded coach that won’t put up with as much crap. Will it be enough to take the defense to another level, or will the Cowboys continue to disappoint each year?
More Than Coaching is Needed
Either way, the Cowboys need to have a few real linebackers on the team and quit putting undersized safeties to defend the run. Unfortunately, the Cowboys are paying Dak Prescott a crap ton of money, which limits their options.
Still No Hope for the Cowboys
I’ve been a fan of the Cowboys my entire life, but I no longer carry any emotional investment in the team. Each year, it’s the same story with slightly different players.
The Dallas Cowboys are the most overhyped team in all of sports, and they should be embarrassed with how they performed in the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers.
On the bright side, only 48 days until Opening Day for the World Series Champion Texas Rangers.
