COVID and Coins: One is Going Away

Is this a sign of our economy collapsing from the pandemic or is technology eradicating coins?

Confusion is the theme of my life lately. I am surrounded by conspiracy theories, changing times, new rules, and many unknown variables regarding the future. I am quarantined from my friends and loved ones. I am brainwashed with viewing streaming propaganda all over the news.

I don’t know who or what to believe anymore. If all of that isn’t enough, now there is a supposed coin shortage. This shocked me just as much as the toilet paper shortage. Really, what the fuck is happening?

As someone who has not ever gone many days without finding a handful of coins in my washing machine, I find this hard to believe.

On the other hand, why lie about something like that? So people won’t get change back and the economy can recoup some of its losses?

In the last decade, pennies have become so abundant they are almost worthless to most people. By most people, I do not mean me. I will collect and wrap my coins until I die. I have seen countless stores with a dish full of them by the cash register for anyone to grab.

Is this a ploy executed at the perfect moment to digitalize our money?

Will this coin shortage cause the value of coins to drop? Will coins be eradicated in the near future and replaced with digital currency? Only time will tell.

Will the only evidence left be at the bottom of the sea alongside all the other forgotten treasures?

I have not the answers only the questions that we should all be asking ourselves.
