COVID-19: Up to 82% of Critically Sick Patients Had Low Vitamin C Values

You’re less likely to die in hospital if you’re injected with vitamin C

It’s unreasonable to expect medical doctors and pharmaceutical companies to tell you how to avoid their services by trying the alternatives.” — Andrew Saul

Our immune systems need vitamin C to function properly. That is a fact. If you get an infection, and your body is low on vitamin C, you’re going to suffer. And when your body is fighting an infection or is under any stress, it needs more vitamin C. In those situations, the RDA (which is just the minimum to stop you from getting scurvy) won’t be enough.

As stated in this study from 2017:

“Vitamin C appears to be able to both prevent and treat respiratory and systemic infections by enhancing various immune cell functions. Prophylactic prevention of infection requires dietary vitamin C intakes that provide at least adequate, if not saturating plasma levels (i.e., 100–200 mg/day), which optimize cell and tissue levels. In contrast, treatment of established infections requires significantly higher (gram) doses of the vitamin to compensate for the increased metabolic demand.”

With this in mind, it’s hardly surprising that this study in July 2021 showed that up to 82% of critically ill COVID-19 patients had low vitamin C. So, why aren’t our Governments giving people free vitamin C supplements?

Also, when patients were given high doses of intravenous vitamin C, there were 80% fewer hospital deaths. So, why aren’t all hospitals giving all COVID-19 patients intravenous vitamin C?

Vitamin C is cheap, is readily available, and is one of the least harmful substances you can put in your body. People don’t tend to die from taking vitamins. Yet people deficient in vitamin C are more likely to die from COVID-19.

But vitamin C isn’t the only important nutrient. As mentioned here, other important ones are vitamin D, niacin (vitamin B3), magnesium, zinc, and selenium. So, why aren’t governments keen to ensure everyone gets enough nutrients? If the goal is to keep people healthy and reduce deaths, shouldn’t they be using every available option?
