COVID-19 Isn’t Done with Us It Is Making Us Sicker, New Study Reveals
A newly published study which identified significant brain shrinkage in a cohort of about 400 people aged between 51 and 81 who had recovered from coronavirus.

In over 50 previously hospitalized patients with COVID-19 suggested modest abnormalities in T2* of the left and right thalami compared with matched controls. However, it remains unknown whether any of these abnormalities predates the infection by SARS-CoV-2. — Excerpt, SARS-CoV-2 is associated with changes in brain structure in UK Biobank
With or without the studies, I can only speak for myself. I know I have been exposed.
And while I was vaccinated last year, as we were about to celebrate the coming of 2022, the year that everyone wished will end the pandemic, I got all the symptoms that at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s eve, I was sick.
It sure felt like it was COVID-19.
I only had my booster shots a few weeks ago and I know I was again exposed as I haven't been the same ever since someone, I know tested positive, the headaches are back, and I’m tired all the time.
I could be like millions around the world, sick but not too sick to be in the hospital.
In the 40–64 age group, heart attack deaths increased 15 per cent in 2021 compared with 2019. And the data shows there are more people now with cardio vascular diseases, and one who even had a mild case of Covid-19 could is susceptible to heart failure or stroke.
Again, not to sound like an alarmist, and the data while substantial in numbers is still limited.
In the same study, it is said that there is some brain shrinkage and while researchers and doctors are optimistic that in time, “Some of these impairments — cerebral and cognitive — may partially normalize in time,” — Gwenaëlle Douaud, associate professor at Oxford university’s Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences
Final words
While many now believe that Covid-19 not only has become seasonal but also has become flu-like which goes away in most cases without the need of being hospitalized. The same is mostly true now with many of the positive cases who only need to isolate themselves at home.
The vaccines did work, but with the new study there is an enemy that is trying to be under the radar, that needs to be addressed head-on.
Otherwise, many of the healthcare systems around the world would suffer and we are in for the long haul as we combat the aftermath of the pandemic.
