Cover Reveal: Order in the Court by Casey Lawrence
A first look at my novel’s new cover art with JMS Books
In 2015, I released my first novel, Out of Order, with Dreamspinner Press, and then quickly followed it up with a sequel. After some shady business went down, I pulled my books from that publisher. For a while there, I was worried they’d be out of print forever and my writing career would be very short-lived, which is why I am so excited to be re-releasing my first two novels and adding a third to the Survivor’s Club series with JMS Books.
My debut novel, Out of Order, was re-released on April 22, 2023. Now it’s the sequel’s turn! Order in the Court has gotten a makeover from JM Snyder’s team of artists and editors in preparation for its June 24, 2023 release.
About the Book
Before I reveal the new cover, here’s a little bit about the book:
After witnessing the murders of her three best friends and having their killer arrested, seventeen-year-old Corey Nguyen is having trouble adjusting to life after high school. Now a freshman in college, all she wants is to put her dark past behind her, make some new friends, and keep her head down until it all blows over.
To Corey’s dismay, her new world will come crashing down when the killer suddenly claims he was coerced into a confession — which means Corey will have to face him in court. Testifying in a murder trial will force her to relive the horrifying events of prom night, and to top it all off, she’s pretty sure her mother is having an affair with the prosecuting attorney. It’s clear that her ordeal isn’t over yet, but Corey might be one panic attack away from losing her mind and making a mistake that could see a guilty man walk free.
When it was first published, Order in the Court was nominated at the 2017 Bisexual Book Awards in two categories, Mystery and Teen/YA Fiction, where it was runner-up.
