WRITING PROMPT RESPONSE
Countless Waterfalls Dropping Into a Pond of Turquoise Blue Water
May Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Water”
Where water flows through the forest.
Water. I love all kinds of water. Sweet water. Saltwater. Swimming pool water. Hot or cold water. Whatever it is — let me jump in, please. So don’t send me to waters where crocs or hippos are looming around.
I grew up learning to swim at an early age and often couldn’t be pulled out of the ocean or outdoor swimming pool. Later in life, I tried to surf, learned to kayak, and balance on a standup paddleboard. I’ve been water skiing but prefer these days to wakeboard.
So, yes. Water is an essential part of my life. It is a mindset. Kind of. Water makes me happy. If it’s a river, lake or the ocean doesn't matter. Just let me be next to a body of water.
The above picture was taken in 2013 when I visited the world-famous Plitvička Jezera, the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. It was the first time I saw such turquoise blue and crystal-clear water. And it wasn’t even the ocean.
This is a prompt response to the May writing challenge.
