Were you always more spiritually aware than most from a young age? Have you often been described as an old soul? Very intuitive or even psychic? Are you creative, but have a deep desire to use your talent to inspire healing and spiritual awareness in others? If so, you may be a fellow Indigo Child.

The term Indigo Child was first used in the 70s by a spiritualist named Nancy Ann Toppe. She claimed to see people’s auras. She noticed more and more children that seemed unusually spiritually evolved all had the same indigo color as their aura. The color indigo is the color of the third eye chakra, which represents psychic intuition, clairvoyance and out-of-body experiences, like astral projection. Indigo’s are thought to have reincarnated to Earth to save humanity from the ways they are living, which is also destroying mankind.

Indigo children are said to have been born starting from 1978 to 80. They are old and/or lost souls, never feeling as if they belong. Indigo children appear to have a strong spiritual intelligence, even from a young age. They are creative and extremely passionate about their craft. That also comes with high expectations for themselves. They are usually considered empaths as well. What really caught my attention was results from a study that was based on a book by a psychic Doreen Virtue, The Care And Feeding Of Indigo Children. Research showed that the spiritually evolved children had a high percentage of being diagnosed with ADHD. Other characteristics include:

I didn’t discover what Indigo Children were until maybe a year ago, after my awakening. I related to the characteristics a lot. After the spiritual awakening and newfound knowledge, I also decided to finally put myself out there and start blogging. My spiritual journey is always my go to for writing, as well as experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. The good and bad. Indigos are said to have a mission to spread consciousness and awaken souls on Earth for a major change to society. I may be an Indigo, or maybe I’m just out there. But if I could leave any type of legacy, it would be to aid in the healing and self love of others. If writing is my way to do so, I will never give it up.
