Writing Prompt

Coronavirus, It’s Over!

We never loved you.

I’m sick of living life your way.

Just when there was an end in sight, we get more of your drama — new variants! UK. South Africa. Brazil. And the list continues to grow.

It’s simple. You ruined everything. Life stopped. People distanced. Loved ones lost.

I can’t see an old picture of myself without thinking “Something’s missing!?” I feel naked for having no mask on. I can’t see a gathering on TV without thinking “they’re not physically distancing!”

I can’t wait for the day we can put you in the past. (It will come!)

I just want to go back to life where you do things, you know? Go out, see people without a mask, travel, eat out, party… whatever it is. Just LIVE.

Thank you for the writing prompt Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她)
