Here are the new Coronavirus crisis updates from yesterday.
The 11th of May, children are going (partially) back to school after two months of homeschooling. The schools are going back to school in a different way than they used to be and there had to be discussions about it with the daycares as children are going to daycares after school. According to Felix Rottenberg, chairman of Branch Society Daycare, these conversations went too difficult. A lot of schools didn’t go into discussions or barely discussed with the branch societies about how the schools would reopen. Also, schools were not reachable during the May holidays.
Dutch TV presenter Jandino Asporaat, organisation Cordaid and Cooperating Aid Organizations Curaçao (SHC) collected 672.000 Euros for Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten last night. They organised a benefit show on the Dutch TV station NPO 1. The money will be used for food packages for people who got in trouble because of the Coronavirus crisis. People who participated were these famous Dutch people: Dirk Kuyt, Giovanca, Jeroen Pauw, State Secretary Knops, Churandy Martina, Edsilia Rombley en Candy Dulfer. After the show, they got lots more money for this cause.
Today it was Mothers day. It was a way more different than other years because of the Coronavirus crisis. You can’t hug your mother, you can’t hug your grandmother. Mothers don’t get the traditional artwork of their children made in class. This year, flowers set in front of the door or they got breakfast delivered by a restaurant.
Travel organisation Corendon wants to offer corona-proof holidays for on people who are really Coronavirus free. That says Corendon director Steven van der Heijden in the Dutch radio program ‘Dit is de Dag’ (This is the Day) on the Dutch radio station ‘Radio 1’. The meaning is that the traveller will be controlled and tested during their holidays. That would be possible as Corendon has its own aeroplanes and they also offer complete all-inclusive resorts. By testing people before getting into the flight, they could be filtered to get out. After two days on the resort, they will be tested again. The company will buy hundreds and thousands of Coronavirus tests. “We can offer this in Turkey, but also in Sicily and Sardinia. We are already in talks with the local authorities,” said Van der Heijden on the radio. According to him, the phrase “that something is possible again” has been reached and the bookings are increasing. “People are hopeful. We are already seeing bookings for September and October.” Corendon plans to launch the corona proof holiday later this week. The company expects to offer trips from the end of July.
