Coronavirus, first positive data from preclinical tests of Italian vaccines
strong antibody production

The first results of the preclinical tests of the five SarsCoV2 coronavirus vaccines conducted in Italy by Takis company are positive and encouraging and induce a strong production of antibodies. The company’s CEO, Luigi Aurisicchio said this to ANSA. “After the first experiment and with a single administration we found a strong antibody titer. The first results in preclinical models - he added - demonstrate the strong lack of homogeneity of the five vaccine candidates ". All five vaccine candidates were designed to thwart the main weapon that the virus uses to invade cells, the Spike protein. In fact, they are based on the fragments of the coronavirus genetic material that correspond to different regions of the protein and all are administered with the technique called electroporation, which consists of an injection into the muscle followed by a very short electrical impulse that facilitates the entry of the vaccine into the cells and activates the immune system. Of the five vaccines being tested, two are currently the most promising, Aurisicchio said.
