Summary

The article discusses the importance of love and emotional well-being in strengthening the immune system, particularly in the context of the Corona virus outbreak.

Abstract

The author, a health and wellness coach with certifications in functional medicine, emphasizes that fear can negatively impact immunity and suggests that love is a powerful countermeasure. The article explains that all emotions stem from either fear or love and that fear not only sells but also perpetuates itself by creating more fear. It advocates for focusing on love to maintain immunological robustness, as fear can lead to stress responses that predispose the body to illness. Experts like Joan Borysenko and Bruce Lipton are cited to support the claim that stressful thoughts can affect the body down to the cellular level. The article offers practical tools for cultivating love and happiness, such as deep breathing, meditation, positive storytelling, and joyful activities, to help individuals regain a sense of control and boost their immune systems during challenging times.

Opinions

  • Fear is detrimental to the immune system, while love enhances it.
  • The current societal response to the Corona virus is dominated by fear, which is counterproductive.
  • Emotions are binary, with fear and love being the roots of all negative and positive emotions, respectively.
  • Stressful thoughts can alter neural pathways and negatively affect physical health.
  • Practices like deep breathing and meditation can help mitigate the body's stress response.
  • Positive thinking and joyful experiences are crucial for maintaining a healthy immune system.
  • The mind and body are deeply connected, and mental states can manifest as physical conditions.
  • Society's focus on external precautions should be balanced with internal measures to improve resilience.
  • The work of experts such as Joan Borysenko, Bruce Lipton, Dee Wallace, Sunny Dawn Johnston, and Louise Hay is referenced to underscore the importance of emotional health in physical well-being.

Corona Virus — Why “All You Need is Love” is More Than A Beatles Song

Fear reduces one’s immunity. Let’s bring in the love.

Okay, it’s not ALL we need, but we need a huge dose of it — and the sooner the better. Let me explain.

I am a board certified health and wellness coach, also certified in functional medicine. How functional medicine differs from conventional medicine is that the focus is on the root cause of disease and how to then heal it.

It is a body, mind and soul approach taking in the brain- gut connection along with the body- mind connection.

More than a coach, I consider myself to be a communicator and a messenger. I follow a lot of experts both in the functional medicine and even metaphysical communities (again, it’s a body-mind connection) and I like to share what they have to say.

Right now there is a lot of fear. The running theme is that we need to get out of the fear. How?

By moving into love.

There are only two emotions, fear and love. All positive emotions come from love, all negative come from fear — period.

Fear sells, and right now it’s selling really well! Corona is new and we don’t know what to expect.

Fear creates more fear! We are all energy, so what we focus on, we create more of.

We can’t figure things out from a place of fear, we need the energy of love. Think about times when you are full of fear, those are the times when you are not thinking straight. You’re reacting not creating.

Do you feel out of control with choices of the government, schools, etc? Let me tell you, we may feel we have control over things in our lives, but we truly only have control over ourselves and how we respond to things.

Let me repeat that. We can only control ourselves and how we respond to things.

There’s been so much talk about what external precautions to take. And we need to take them! What I’d like to share some internal precautions we need to take and apply, to take back control of ourselves.

Here are some of what the experts I follow are saying which really resonate with me. These experts are also messengers themselves sharing in their way the message of many other experts.

Joan Borysenko, Ph. D is a leading expert on stress, spirituality and the body-mind connection. She is a scientist, psychologist and has a doctorate in medical science from Harvard. Bruce Lipton, Ph.D is a stem cell biologist and author of the best seller, The Biology of Belief.

Joan shares that freaking out reduces one’s immunity. “Calming anxiety is of paramount importance in staying immunologically robust”. She sites Bruce Lipton who has researched how “ stressful thoughts and beliefs affect our neuroendocrine system right down to our gene expression”.

Meaning that fear is felt right down to the cellular level. It’s the body-mind connection. “Stressful thoughts and beliefs change the neural pathways in your brain and cause cortisol and adrenaline to overflow in your bloodstream, resulting in a cascade of cellular events that predispose your body to illness”.

What this means for us is to come from a place of love instead of a place of fear. Not saying this is easy, but it is extremely important — not only now with the Corona virus, but with daily stress and any disease that is then created.

How to we create more happiness within ourselves? Here are some tools that I have applied myself and I can tell you first hand, they work!

Joan offers the deep breathing exercise. Breathe deeply and slowly through your nose, and exhale through your mouth. So many in the field speak about how this calms the vagus nerve and the fight and flight response. Spend some time throughout the day consciously breathing deep.

Meditation is another powerful tool. It opens up areas of your brain that have been closed off. And helps you connect to who you really are. Don’t worry if you can’t shut your thoughts up. It’s hard not to — just don’t get caught up in them, let them float by you.

Be mindful on what stories you tell yourself, and putting a positive spin on them (find the silver lining in your experiences). Is it true that everything always goes wrong for me? Start to question what you tell yourself. Look for what is going right — when you do, you will find it.

Dee Wallace, actor and healer along with Sunny Dawn Johnston, spiritual teacher and psychic medium both share the need move into happy thoughts to boost the immune system. Sounds woo-woo, right?! It’s not!

Dee speaks of moving into your love place by closing your eyes and thinking of something or someone who brings you joy. Take a moment and try it now. For me, it’s being outside in nature with the blue sky and warmth of the sun. Notice how you start feeling — the joy that comes from going to that place of love for you.

When you are in that place of love, the fear cannot come in. Move there as many times as you need to throughout the day.

Sunny mentions doing a brain dump to get the negative energy out of your body. Spend 10 minutes writing down all your fears, let it all out, and then burn it. Then get happy. Put on some music that makes you smile, brings happy memories even. Dance if you want — after releasing the negative, you need to replace it with positive energy. Otherwise the negative comes right back.

I’d also like to include the late Louise Hay, founder of Hay House. She has authored many books including Heal Your Life Heal Your Body. She was diagnosed with cancer and healed herself without the traditional form of treatment.

She is a pioneer in the belief that we create every so-called illness in our body and what we give out, we get back. She lists mental equivalents compiled over many years of study through her work with clients. And she connected probable mental patterns behind the dis-ease in one’s body. Meaning our mind is in dis ease which creates disease in the body.

Since Corona is new, but is a virus and it has been compared to the flu, I looked up to see what Louise had to share for those infected with:

Flu: The probable cause: “Response to mass negativity and beliefs. Fear. Belief in statistics”.

Viral Infections: The probable cause: “Lack of joy flowing through life. Bitterness”.

Looping this altogether, I find this all fascinating and see such a pattern pointing us back to bringing in love and releasing fear.

This will allow us take control of ourselves during a time when society seems out of control.

These are just a few voices of many that I’m hearing singing the same tune…

Until next time~
