Cooking With Kids

Cooking for kids, and those that still think they are.

Hi, I am wearing my Grammy Judy cooking hat today. I plan to write a simple recipe using minimal ingredients. These are super fast, easy recipes for the kids and the big kids we live with.

I love to cook and chop and teach. I will include helpful hints, where to buy what you need, and what it should look like. Where did I get these recipes?

Mostly from friends, trial and error, and sometimes Weight Watchers. If you like this, I will add a new recipe each week. Please share with your friends and family. Judy

THE BEST BANANA ICE CREAM

No added sugar, flour, or eggs, just a mostly healthy treat! The kids love it. Serves 3–4. Plan to make more.

You will need

  1. A small mini prep processor, or a blender

2. 3 ripe bananas, peeled, cut into 1-inch sections

3. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon, or milk 1/4 cup

4. Optional sprinkles, crushed nuts, chocolate chips ( there goes the healthy)

Add the frozen bananas to the mini chopper, or blender. Be patient till the bananas get crushed. Add the liquid, I like vanilla extract. Blend again.

Serve, my eaters like it plain. It is the consistency of soft serve from the ice cream machine. You can freeze the remaining ice cream; I’ve never had any leftovers.
