The Un-Fun Stuff

Before we dig into the nitty gritty, follow Spot On and the editor, Frankie Pendles .

Before submitting your work:

  1. Make sure it complies with Medium’s rules.
  2. Run your work through Grammarly or Hemmingway App. It’s free and takes less than a minute.
  3. Choose a standout Unsplash image.
  4. Avoid click bait titles.
  5. Be respectful. Spot On is a positive environment that fosters the growth of all writers.
  6. Start writing!

The (Easy) Submission Process

After writing and reviewing your work, you’re ready to make your submission to Spot On. You must submit unpublished work to Spot On.

  1. Before submitting, click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

2. On the drop-down menu, click “Submit to a Publication.” Then, select Spot On. (If you don’t see Spot On, click here to join the publication.)

3. After selecting the publication, click “Submit to Publication.

4. Add five tags. Remember to choose popular tags for greater reach.

5. Make sure your Paywall option is selected.

6. Review the title and subtitle.

7. Submit!

As a young publication, submissions are reviewed quickly. We’ll make minor revisions as needed. Think typos, punctuation, small stuff only.
