CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Consistency Will Get You To Places You Never Thought You Could Go To
The trick to this is to keep your focus on the long-term
I want you to picture two people of identical height and weight. Both are overweight and want to get their weight down to their ideal number so both of them sign up to a nearby gym and start working out.
The first day they go, they do cardio workouts for about an hour. They sweat it out, they put in the work, and they go home.
They also started to eat healthier, cutting out all the junk and making sure they ate a balanced diet.
The next day, they do the same thing again.
For the first week, both of them put in 6 days of working out — doing cardio exercises for about an hour each time. They also keep to their diets, eating a well-balanced diet for each meal.
At the end of the week, they weighed themselves — nothing. No difference whatsoever in the numbers they see on the scale.
One of them feels discouraged as he feels the effort he has put in so far is for nothing — all gone to waste as he hasn’t seen the results he wanted. What’s the point of the past week if nothing has changed?
He gives up. He goes back to his old habits again of unhealthy eating, and not exercising.
The other guy, however, knows that this is what he wants and is committed to it. He knows that the results will eventually come as long as he keeps putting in the work.
A few months pass by and the first guy (the one who gave up) puts on even more weight than when he first started working out.
The other guy, on the other hand, is now at his optimal weight, lives a healthy lifestyle, feels full of energy, and tackles each day with enthusiasm as he keeps going after more goals that he has set his sights on.

Consistency is key to a lot of things that we do — and it can actually either be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what is being done consistently.
For example, if you do something that’s not good for you (like sleeping late) consistently, your health will end up being the one to suffer.
But if you do something good consistently (like working out, eating well, getting enough rest), then that can only be a good thing for you.
And the results will eventually show.
Like the example I gave earlier, the results will come later if you’re consistent enough.
And that’s really important to know because many people (like the person who gave up) tend to lose sight of the long-term because they don’t see results quickly enough.
No matter what it is that you do, results will always take a while to show up.
But it can only happen if you’re consistent with what you do.
As a writer, there are many great examples on this platform itself, of what consistency can do when writing online.
So many amazing writers on this platform went through years of not seeing any results despite the hard work that they had put in.
But they kept going.
They kept grinding.
They kept writing.
Eventually, the success and results that they were working so hard for, showed up.
And it kept showing up.
The big writers on this platform, the ones that are constantly getting huge engagements from their articles, making decent enough money from their articles, they were very consistent with their writing.
If you read about what they had to do before they got to where they are now, you’ll see how many years of consistent writing it took them to be where they are now.
While it may look like overnight success to many, that overnight success took years or consistent hard work.
Because when you do something consistently, you’re not just learning how to make a habit out of it, you’re also getting better and better at doing it.
Do something long enough and it becomes easier.
That’s just how it works.
That’s why people who have been doing what they’ve been doing for years and years, make it look so easy when in reality, it’s not.
But because they’ve done it for such a long period of time, it becomes natural for them.
And when things get and feel easier, it also becomes easier to keep at it.
That’s what consistency can do for you.

At the end of the day, the only choice you have is to either keep going and keep doing what you need to do to get to your goals, or give up and potentially regret it in the future.
For me, I don’t want to have any regrets in the future.
And honestly, there really isn’t anything to think about or choose from when it comes to things you really want to do in life.
If losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle is what you really what to do, then quitting isn’t really an option is it? You have to exercise regularly, eat a well-balanced diet consistently, and get enough rest.
There really isn’t any other way to get that healthy lifestyle.
It’s the same in any craft you want to do — be it being a writer, or any other thing — you have to be consistent.
Because consistency will take you to places you never thought you could go.
So, be consistent in the things that will get you to where you want to be. You have it within you to do it.
