Connexions
A poem on the prompt “connection”
Bluetooth in my ears, a mop in my hand
Swishing and swashing on the window panes
When the song tuned to our favorite band,
Taking me on a ride down the memory lanes.
The smell of coffee as I pour in my mug
Reminds me of the babbles over our daily evening brews
Fairy lights and hot cheese noodles kept us snug
Transforming the tough medical school into warm colorful hues.
Lone divergent paths, duties, family, and career;
We split so soon when did the five years fly, I wonder
Left with nostalgia and a yearning to share a beer
Dreams and ambitions making us soar into the wide blue yonder.
Fret not, dear lovelies for deep deep down I know
Our Connexion in the cosmos by no means ephemeral
This is just an interlude, the verse due on the piano;
Who sings of our alliances so melodious and eternal.
