Connections That Awaken
Spiritual teachers in life
I remember the heart-crushing pain of rejection, the deep loss of faith in someone, the disappointments that struck me to my core. I remember and still feel some of this pain when I think back, but I am grateful.
I am grateful for the people that have come and gone in my life. The people that appear to help me level-up my understanding and wisdom of the world. I am eternally grateful for the lessons, the struggles, and the pain for it has all led me to where I am now.
Often the greatest teachers in our lives are the people who challenge us, who make us grit our teeth, cry with sadness and scream with frustration.
Through these great trials and tribulations, we receive the opportunity to awaken parts of ourselves. To unearth the undiscovered, uncharted territory within.
My greatest spiritual teachers have caused me to cry in deep sorrow, to scream with rage, and to question my sanity, but still, I am grateful. For without them I wouldn’t be as aware.
The great spiritual teachers of life often hide in plain sight. They go unrecognized for their ability to provoke change and awaken parts of others. They often deliver their gifts unaware of the transformation they are sparking.
Connection
Connection; a relationship in which a person or thing is linked or associated with something else. — Definition from Oxford Languages
Everything is connected in life.
From the mycelium networks that form a carpet underneath our feet to the ecosystems of the creatures around us.
Connection is essential to every aspect of being alive, and dead for that matter too. Connection is everything.
Some of our spiritual teachers are the people who come into our lives to facilitate change, to promote transformation and growth in us. For these connections, we can be grateful for the lessons, challenges, and difficulties.
Other spiritual teachers come in the form of loving, supportive comrades. They may not be our biggest challengers but are our biggest cheerleaders. For these connections, we can be grateful for the guidance and love.
Other people are both to us. They both challenge and support us.
I am grateful for all these connections, for they taught me about love. They taught me to trust, to accept the brilliance, intelligence, and beauty of myself. To value connection in every aspect.
These people showed me parts of myself I hadn’t seen or accepted. They took the time to express their faith and belief in me and they showed up to cheer me on when my self-doubt plagued me.
They offended and hurt me. They rejected and neglected me, and I am grateful for it all.
Connection is always a gift.
Connections awaken parts of us in different ways.
Reflection
Reflect; (of a surface or body) throw back (heat, light, or sound) without absorbing it. — Definition from Oxford Languages
To reflect on connections is eye-opening, the relationships we have even from the past can aid us in our futures. The lessons are infinite and the knowledge boundless.
Thank you to the ex that taught me to have more fun in life.
Thank you to the friend that saw the potential in me.
These are the big presents in life we receive from people’s presence.
These are the connections that awaken.
Our connections reflect parts of ourselves hiding in plain sight. They allow us to explore a new perspective to expand our vision.
They awaken and enliven our spirits and they push us to evolve in life.
I hold gratitude for all connections. For they are all teachers. They encourage and instigate awakenings inside us.
Seeing the bigger picture
Connection is one of the biggest gifts of this world. The teachers you meet along the journey of life will bless you with their knowledge, lessons, love, support, and guidance, If only you are open to receiving it.
Connection is deeply rooted in our creation, we cannot ignore or be separate from it.
Everyone and everything is connected and in these divine connections lies the very sacred knowledge of you.
The wisdom and knowledge to understand yourself better and those around you better.
The infinite compassion that humans are capable of and the overflowing love of all that is.
“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.” ― Herman Melville
Thank you to the spiritual teachers that grace us with their presence.
They are the difficult people, the challenging relationships, and the painful connections. They are the loving ones, the supportive allies, and the cheerleaders in the side-lines. They are the awakeners.
