I hope though that Medium is a lot more transparent in the near future about exactly what the criteria is to earn the $500 bonus (assuming they continue it). I wasn’t one of the 1000 writers that got the $500 from Medium this month, but I know several of the excellent writers out there that did. Good on you guys. That $500 bonus was well deserved.

No word yet from Medium whether this will become a regular thing or not, but I hope it does. Pure speculation, but I kind of wonder maybe Medium is feeling a little heat from competitors like News Break and Vocal Media.
