Confidence is Key, Tips to Gain Confidence

You may have heard of the phrase “Confidence is Key”. I have. And I’m here to tell you that it’s true

If you keep your head down and don’t acknowledge new opportunities and people, then you’ll notice your mental health start to fall and you’ll believe that nobody likes you. The only reason why “nobody likes you” is because you aren’t willing to let people get to know you.

That leads to my first point. Ignore your insecurities.

You need to be able to put all your insecurities aside, try new things, and meet new people. I promise you nobody cares if you mess up with the new hobby you want to pursue, and if you do, people will forget in a matter of minutes.

The same goes for talking to people. I realized most people are willing to talk if you reach out to them. The only problem is whether you’re willing to reach out. I used to wait for people to reach out to me to hang out. Recently, I realized I’m done waiting for people to reach out to me first.

Once I had this mentality, I reached out to people and every person said “yes”. My point is that once you start reaching out to people rather than waiting for them to reach out to you, you’ll become a happier person.

My second tip is to feel like you are the boss.

If you can walk into a room and have the mentality that you are the man/woman of the room, then your confidence will skyrocket. People want to be around a person who looks comfortable in their environment rather than the person sitting at their desk looking timid and afraid.

When I walk into a classroom or when I walk into the batter’s box in a baseball game, I imagine the world revolves around me, nobody is allowed to walk on my turf and I am my boss. But just because you imagine yourself as a boss doesn’t mean you can be a bitch. People don’t like that.

My third tip is to look presentable.

If you’re insecure about the way you look then fix it. Find a skincare routine that works and find that cologne that makes you walk with confidence. Find a haircut that fits your head shape and find some good-looking clothes.

But, if you are a person out there suffering from acne or some other visible difference that makes you feel self-conscious, please do not let it stop you from hanging out with your friends and trying new things. There is more human decency than you think in this world and I promise nobody is going to say something to make you upset. Don’t let insecurity rule your life.

I hope I helped you realize that life is too short to spend all this time worrying about every little thing. Confidence is Key. You need to take control of your life by any means necessary.
