Concept Cars of the 70’s vol.1

Holden Torana GTR-X
Manufacturer in Australian. Inspired by Italian designers. It look like Datsun 240Z. It got 3.0L V6 engine with 160hp, 4 speed manual, and fiberglass body. It was lightweight and fast at the times but pull the plug early even though they planned on making it for 8 years. It was overtaken by Datsun 240Z and Opel at the times. Only few exist now.
I’m guessing whoever own this car somewhere would be please to know that the price tag would be really high for being very rare.
Lancia Stratos Zero
Made by Italian. Only 492 were made in between 73–78. A very successful rally car for winning a “world rally championship” in 74, 75, and 76. There were 3 type of engine but most was used in V12, 275hp or 320hp hitting 6.8 sec for 0–100km. For the “road use” the common engine is 1.6L V4. It making a comeback with new design in 2005 with a mid-engine V8, 419hp. Again in 2020 for 4.3L, V8 with 540hp. Hitting 3.3 sec from 0–100km and can reach a top speed of 320km (200mph). Planned to make only 25 in the world.
I wouldn’t buy it now but maybe the old model it looked wicked. I think the new one look kind of weird now.
Lamborghini Bravo (1974)
Never went into production and was inspired by Countach. It had 3.0L, V8 with 300hp. The inside was designed with simple basic needs to operate the cars.
If it was made so simple inside then I don’t want it. I like cool stuff in it. Even for a top sport car.
De Tomaso Montella Concept (1973)
Hand built in Italy by Ghia with only white colour. It looked like a Ferrari. It had 5.7L, V8 engine, and a 5 speed ZF gear box. “ZF” are German made and design for light-weight car. I had to looked it up. It was short-lived because of emissions act by the government regulations. Estimated value is between $90,000 to $120,000 but was sold for $99,000 at the “Monterey Sports and Classic Car Auction”.
Well, that it for now until I find more of others cool car to add into medium.com.
