“Comparison Is the Thief of Joy”
Theodore Roosevelt.
“Don’t compare your life to others. There’s no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it’s their time”. — UNKNOWN
COMPARISON SUCKS!! Stop. it. NOW!
I believe we should all compete only with ourselves. No one else matters.
I mean there will ALWAYS be someone:
smarter funnier more talented wiser more beautiful more tenacious more intelligent more successful more wealthy
than us
but who the FUCK CARES? Stop. IT. NOW!! Just stop.
My only goal now is to be better than I WAS yesterday… for me.
Period.
I don’t give a hooooooot ( I really don’t!) if anyone else notices it.
I KNOW in my own heart when I should be proud of myself , proud of my work, proud of how I’ve spent my day.
If someone else acknowledges or notices it that’s cool but most people WONT.
Even my own boyfriend of 22 years doesn’t know how hard I work. He may think he does but he doesn’t.
I don’t compare my progress with anyone else’s any more and I don’t expect people to ‘get me’ or my motivations.
Their shit is their shit…although I can be inspired by other people.
We all have different motivations and goals in our lives. We all believe that success means something different.
To you success might mean “Getting dressed and out of bed”.
To someone else it could mean “Publishing 19 books before they die”.
Another could say that success means “Balancing home and family life”.
Another could feel that success is “Becoming a multi millionaire with 4 homes!”
Ask 100 people you’ll probably get 100 responses to ‘what is success?”
I’ve learned not to spend my precious valuable time on comparison now.
I don’t want to worry about someone elses motivations.
Maybe this attitude is what you get when you become my old age.haha
Being 57 means I’ve lived long enough to KNOW that comparing myself has NOT worked.
It has crippled me.

We are all running our own race.
We need to stay in our ‘own lane’ and stop the comparisons.
