Comedian Franklyn Ajaye Picks Up the Mic Again After 11 Year Hiatus
When the universe calls — pick up.

Two stars aligned. The timing was right — a stroke of serendipity delivered Ajaye back into the limelight.
When our mind soul connection — intrinsically wired and open, we can count on the universe to deliver our heart’s desire even when our vision still teeters in its infancy, no matter if we’ve fully embraced it or not.
Franklyn Ajaye thought he had dropped the mic and closed the backstage door to his standup comedy career years ago. His interest in writing increasingly evolved into fulfilling the longtime dream of penning his memoir.
Appreciative of my previous article during Black History month — his accomplishments mentioned hadn’t been at the forefront of his mind in years.
After seeing the Chris Rock Netflix special, his own creative juices started bubbling to the surface. He told the hubby he was thinking of picking the proverbial mic back up and gracing the stage again.
No sooner than he mouthed the words, the stage beckoned his presence through a phone call from Russell Peters, the Canadian comedian and first to get a Netflix comedy special, who was in Melbourne to perform in his own sold-out concert at the John Cain Arena.
When Peters discovered Franklyn lived there, he phoned him. Unbeknownst to Ajaye, he was a huge fan. He asked Franklyn if he would perform an introductory 15-minute routine before his show begins.

Franklyn answered the call with only one day to prepare. He stepped onto the stage for the first time since 2012 and knocked it out of the park.
This feel-good story is testament to how our thoughts can manifest our destiny.
We hope this is a stepping stone — a return to a much bigger pond for Franklyn’s immersion back into the craft that started it all as we’re sure he only meant just to wet his feet last week.
When the universe calls — pick up.
