Abstract

etimes connecting our senses with nature is the kindest thing we can do for ourselves at that moment in time. I compiled this short poem during a soulful walk with Zac; my beautiful and aging dog. The process of tuning into my mind and body, and really connecting with my surroundings, brought peace into my day.

Thank you to Jill (Conquering Cognitions) for the inspiration behind these words. Come Walk With Me and Lean Into the Mindful Kindness of Mother Nature

Look up, look out, what do you see?

Author’s own image, looking up

Look up, look out, what do you see? Blue skies and trees, smiling down on me.

Look up, look out, how do you feel? Cozy in my jacket, my privilege is real.

Look up, look out, what can you smell? The soil, the leaves, the moisture as well.

Look up, look out, what can you hear? The winter song, of a bird sitting near.

Look up, look out, how do you move? Slowly and gracefully, with nature's groove.

Look up, look out, where is your place? Between the river and trees, you’ll find my space.

Sometimes connecting our senses with nature is the kindest thing we can do for ourselves at that moment in time. I compiled this short poem during a soulful walk with Zac; my beautiful and aging dog. The process of tuning into my mind and body, and really connecting with my surroundings, brought peace into my day.

Thank you to Jill (Conquering Cognitions) for the inspiration behind these words. Better late than never Jill, right? Jill encourages us all to get out in our environment and truly notice our surroundings.
