Colonial Mentality
The indelible imprints of spreading hatred amongst masses.
I always spend my spare time in writing, collecting and exploring the evils which are rapidly spreading throughout the world. I always wonder why we seem to be so engrossed in the path of hatred so fast as to destroy our own race? Why do we see our own relationships as an obstacle to the progress of ourselves? Why do we now spend so much time fighting people instead of sharing love? Why do we consider ourselves superior and others inferior? Many more suchlike questions push my mind to the brink of destruction even faster than the speed of a storm.
The answers to such questions can be found, to some extent, by peaking the window of history. To compare this condition of a man with today’s history, it makes us numb and implore us to read the history behind it. We have come a long way today by sacrificing so many valuable things and lives. Even though we progressed, yet we cannot sit together, cannot laugh clearly, cannot express our feelings well. The roots of hatred have become strong enough and have taken the form of a strong tree. The indelible imprints of suchlike questions in our mind, however, are the dissatisfaction that there might have wrong happened in the past.
Is it necessary to go through the pages of history just to understand and resolve such mental complication? Or is it necessary to comprehend the historical mistakes and not to repeat it? You all have the sensible answer to this question that it is important not to repeat the mistakes. But even though we are fully aware of this mistake, yet we keep repeating it unintentionally. It can be said that you and I are, indirectly, responsible for this depressing state of human beings under a systemic conditioning.
To understand this, we look into the past and try to understand how today we, humans, are equally involved in dividing and fighting. We are now on a path where we have even been separated from Soul and Body. We are also isolated from ourselves under a systemic evils — the basis of which we can find just peeking into today’s economic system.
Historical perspective:
A history where you don’t find the name of the oppressed. Where human sympathizers and human rights activists were beheaded. By preparing warriors and fighters, human beings were massacred. And the warriors were praised for their physical strength and terror. Just like them, today, we praise of their physical strength and, substantially, write them “warriors: the heroes” in our written pieces. Think, if all this happens today, by what name should these fighters be called? Such powerful warriors conquered the parts of world, enslaved the weak class and, ultimately, started oppressing nations. They categorized humans into classes on the basis of wealth. At the time two classes were introduced — the wealthy and the poor. By conquering the territory and its peoples, conquerer recognized themselves as a ruler.
As the peoples were categorized on the basis of wealth, they seemed to be engrossed at the path of collecting wealth and mineral resources in order to accumulate enough amount to be recognized as a ruler. By using their power in the world, they conquered many towns, areas and countries. They started slavery trade where oppressed were sold for cheapest rates. They started transfering all the raw material to their hometowns and became wealthiest for all the time. These territories became battlegrounds for the Powers and turned turns into a graveyard. Then, the status of a man transformed — the White became superior and the Black inferior.
The Black were considered less than a human. They were humiliated and considered not deserving equality and liberty. In the twentieth century, products related to whitening skin were sold directly to the public. The White supremacy psychic developed in human mind and had taken its roots. The swon seeds of hatred , in the intoxication of power, are still found in human genes. Power-mongers not only changed our languages, but also divided us further into many forms such as, religion, cast, race, tribe etc., We were defined, with certain features, that ascertained how the Black are inferior and the White superior — as if a man has been a product available to be sold in a market.
Another journey begins in the pages of the history where, along with industries, technology is also brought to the forefront. While human beings have already been shown to be superior and inferior, even in this advanced age differences are maintained among human beings — they are further divided and pushed back. The impression was created that this inferior class has no ability at all. Over time, the technology evolved so much better that it provides the same facilities to all human beings at in hands without any race, religion and tribe. The concept of borders in the world of technology came to an end and the peoples from all over the world joined together to share their sufferings and cruelties made by rulers of the region.
With the easiest accessibility of this technology, the tendency of human interaction and harmony increased internationally. People from all over the world strengthened their unity in order to get rid of evils happens all around. They overwhelmingly denied colonial mentalities and made it even more clear that human ability and perseverance cannot be divided by any race, religion or tribe. Rather, it requires some basic rights to make it capable and competitive.
There are things left with us in this short journey that we either don’t know about or even if we do, we don’t seek to understand and examine them. These things are firmly entrenched in our minds, and even in this modern age. They are at the forefront of spreading riots among human beings such as our racist language, beautiful skin, and hateful minds. We keep looking for the things we like in this world and ignore the facts under the guise of hatred. Owing to this we need to continue fighting for equality and freedom, even in this medern and progressive age.
