Abstract

Penn State has been a big disappointment this season. They finally got their first win last week over the equally disappointing Michigan Wolverines. Penn State has allowed 30+ points in each of their 5 losses this season. They also had 8 turnovers in that same 5 game span. Rutgers may only be 2–4 but they’ve hung in there and played hard in every game. Their losses were either against ranked opponents, in overtime, or by 3 points. They’ll be at home as an 11 point underdog against a team that I wouldn’t be surprised to see them upset. I like Rutgers here.

We have done well for ourselves over the last few weeks betting Illinois. They started the season 0–3 due to having issues with players and Covid. When they came back to practically full strength they were underestimated due to their record and poor performance in the first 3 games when they weren’t playing with their starters. My plan is to keep taking Illinois until the lines are adjusted to understand that they’re a better team than their record. This week they’re playing at home against Iowa and getting 13.5 points and I’m sticking with Illinois again. Iowa is coming off of a close win against Nebraska and next week they play a top 25 team when they host Wisconsin. They can’t overlook the Fighting Illini here

. If Illinois can utilize their 2 running backs and their defense can continue to limit the scoring as they have over their last 2 wins, this could be a close low scoring game. South Carolina has not been playing well this season and they even fired their head coach. Kentucky is not having a great season either. Over their last 2 games they’ve only been able to score 13 points total but have given up over 100 points. Neither team has looked impressive on offense so I think the low score will benefit taking the underdog here. Kentucky should be favored but not by double digits. College Football Bets for 12/5

We had another 2–1 week last week in college football. Obviously the goal was to go 3–0 but I’ll be thrilled to continue to come out ahead each week. Let’s go over last week’s picks and then look forward to Saturday.

What Went Right?

The first game we liked last week was Syracuse +14.5 against NC State. We liked Syracuse to stay within 2 TDs based on the amount of turnovers they’ve been forcing this season. NC State won the game 36–29 and we won the bet. We also took Alabama to cover a large 24.5 point spread in the Iron Bowl against Auburn. Alabama proved dominant as they went on to win 42–13.

What Went Wrong?

Putting my faith in Bowling Green was a poor decision. I never claimed that they were any good but I did believe they could keep the score within 24 points. Ohio proved me wrong by decimating Bowling Green 52–10.

They finally got their first win last week over the equally disappointing Michigan Wolverines. Penn State has allowed 30+ points in each of their 5 losses this season.

My final college football bet for Saturday looks at the South Carolina Gamecocks as they head to Kentucky to take on the Wildcats. I like South Carolina +11.5 here.

The Kris Bets This…

NCAAF (17–12) (58.62%) (+3.8 units)

Rutgers +11 Illinois +13.5 South Carolina +11.5

Looks like we’re going with the underdogs this Saturday to cover. I got these lines from Draftkings. Also check lines at Fanduel and anywhere else so you can get the best price. Best of luck and I’ll post tomorrow with NFL week 13 bets.
