With a slew of cancelled college football games last week I only had 2 football bets to recommend. Ended up going 1–1. We’ll go over how they turned out and then go onto this week’s bets. Feel free to find us on Facebook to always get alerted when the latest blog has posted.

What Happened?

We were counting on Iowa staying on their winning streak and Wisconsin to stay on their losing streak. Thankfully it came through for us as Iowa won 28–7. On the other hand I didn’t see TCU covering a 21 point spread against Louisiana Tech. Unfortunately for us they won by twice as much winning 52–10.

College Football Bets for 12/19

The first game I’m looking at for Saturday’s football bets is the Big Ten Championship between Northwestern and Ohio State. Although Ohio State only played 5 games this season, changes were made last week that allows them into the championship game. Northwestern has played good defense through the season but I don’t think their defense will stand a chance against an Ohio State Buckeye team that wants to show everyone that they deserve this opportunity. It’s a sizeable line with Ohio State favored by 20 points but they’ve won 3 of their 5 games by 20+ this season. I see them doing it again against Northwestern.

The Big 12 Championship between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Iowa St. Cyclones should be a close game between two very good teams. Iowa St running back Breece Hall has had an excellent season and should have another good game this Saturday. The Cyclones defense is holding teams to an average of 21 points per game. Oklahoma may lead the Big 12 in sacks but Iowa St does have a solid offensive line. Although Iowa St won their previous contest earlier this season 37–30, I see this being a close game that either team could win. That being said I’ll take Iowa St and the 5.5 points.

Later in the afternoon is the Mountain West Championship between Boise St. and San Jose St. Boise St is no stranger to playing in this conference championship but this is the first appearance for the San Jose St. Spartans. Spartans lead rusher Tyler Nevens should have no issues rushing against the low-ranked rush defense of the Boise St. Broncos. I don’t know if San Jose St. can pull off the upset but they’re a solid undefeated team and I see them keeping it within 6 points.

The Kris Bets This…
