College Basketball Bets for 11/30
Lately I’ve been focusing only on college football and NFL football but tonight will start my college basketball bets for this 2020–2021 season. Going into this weekend we were over 57% in NCAAF and 65% in NFL. I’m happy with both, and will continue to blog on both sports each week, but now I’m hoping to see the same win percentage in college basketball as well. I didn’t want to start off betting until each team had a couple of games in. Looking over today’s slate I think my strategy will be to find the best places to take advantage of underdogs getting a lot of points. Typically there’s a reason some games have a lopsided line but I’m going to look for spots where the line is just too high and take advantage of that. As I do with each sport I plan on tracking my progress, the good and the bad, through the season. That will give us a chance to see what works and learn from our mistakes when a bet doesn’t go our way.
College Basketball for Monday
The first game I’m looking at tonight is the Xavier Musketeers hosting the Eastern Kentucky Colonels. This will be Xavier’s 4th game in 6 days. They’ve been winning but by a slim margin. They defeated Bradley by just 1 point and are coming off of a 3 point victory over Toledo. Tonight they’re going to need to win by over 16 points to cover the spread. Eastern Kentucky has won both of their games this season and plays at a very fast pace. Xavier will be their toughest opponent thus far but I’m happy to take the 16.5 points here.
Although I try to find large point spreads to see if the underdog has a chance to cover, I’m also looking for underdogs that could win outright. The Texas Southern Tigers travel to face the Wyoming Cowboys in the late game tonight. Last season Wyoming ranked 337th out of 353 teams in offensive efficiency and finished dead last in their conference. Texas Southern is coming off of a loss to Oklahoma St after missing half of their free throws and almost all of their 3 point attempts. This looks like the tale of two teams coming off of disappointing seasons. But if the Tigers can improve a bit from the foul line and from the outside they should keep the score close or possibly win outright.
UCLA may be the 22nd ranked team but they’re coming off of a 3OT win over the Pepperdine Waves. Tonight they come off of a long game to host Long Beach State who knows them quite well. For the past 3 years they’ve played their opening game at UCLA and have managed to keep the score close each time. Long Beach State is returning their top 2 scorers along with a starting forward. I’m not saying UCLA will be heading into 3 more overtimes tonight but I do think Long Beach State can keep it within 17.5 points for the cover.
The Kris Bets This…
NCAAB E. Kentucky +16.5 Texas Southern +9 Long Beach State +17.5
Good luck with your bets tonight. These lines are from Draftkings. Don’t forget to look for more beneficial lines at Fanduel or anywhere else available to you. Depending on the college basketball slates during the week days I may be back with more basketball updates before Thursday’s college football blog. Best of luck everyone!
