Cold Feet

Emperor and chick by @ernio_art

I didn’t have cold feet when falling in love asking her to marry or deciding to “try”

I didn’t have cold feet hearing the heartbeat seeing the sonogram or even the first cry

But I do get nervous when looking ahead thinking of her grow where her future will lie

Will I mess her up? Will I scar her for life? What will she become? What happens when I die?

Those cold feet will come no sense in worrying til then I’ll warm them by just loving her, her mother and I
