Coffee Is a Drug Not a Drink. 3 Reasons Why I Avoid Coffee for 20 Years
The benefits I enjoy are awesome

Reason 1. Coffee is a psychoactive drug
Do I want drugs in my system? No, thank you. I want my nervous system to be clean. I want my brain to function without stimulants. No addictions, no withdrawal symptoms.
Reason 2. My teeth got better
Coffee washes away calcium from bones. By the way, alcohol does the same. I didn’t like the yellow colour stains after coffee. I have had bad teeth since childhood. My teeth got way better after I stopped drinking coffee.
Reason 3. I sleep like a baby
All that extra alertness after drinking coffee was disturbing my sleep. The improved quality of sleep affected my health.
How about the health benefits of coffee?
Many authors on Medium write about how good coffee is. Let’s look at the health benefits of drinking coffee:
- Increased energy
Ever heard of the law of conservation of energy? Coffee doesn’t create extra energy you feel. Where does it come from? Coffee takes it from other parts of your nervous system.
2. Extra athletic abilities
Coffee increases cortisol and adrenaline levels. You’re saying you need a substance to make your muscle more efficient. Are you sure this is the right way to train? How is it different from bodybuilders taking steroids? Are you training at Olympic levels to justify the use of performance-enhancing drugs?
3. Increased fat burning
Yes, coffee can fool your body to burn fat without a reason. Yet, how long is the effect going to last? Have you met a lot of people who lost significant amounts of fat by drinking coffee?
There are many natural ways to achieve health benefits. Why would I want to use a psychoactive substance for health benefits?
Long-term benefits I enjoy:
1. Top energy
I enjoy high energy without any stimulants 364 days a year. All I need is to feel the minimum energy day coming. I keep my profile low this day to take it easy. I lead a healthy lifestyle, being coffee-free is one part of it. I use natural stimulants such as emotions, music and exercises. Clean energy feels great!
2. I’m in control
I use my brain to control my emotions and productivity. A big difference from relying on ‘performance enhancing drugs’ every day.

3. I save money.
Coffee can be expensive when you drink it every day. I don’t need coffee, so why spend money on it?

4. I save time.
Making coffee or buying it ready takes time. I always wonder why people queue for a cup of coffee.

5. Part of my healthy lifestyle.
Being addiction-free is part of health. It’s great to feel healthy, isn’t it?
