Closing a GCP Account

I’ve written before about closing AWS accounts in an AWS Organization. I have to admin that closing GCP projects was far easier in comparison.

However, how hard is it to close an organization and the primary GCP account? After initially searching around for an easy button to click, I haven’t found one.

Apparently, you have to login to read that.

And also apparently you have to delete your entire Google account, not just the GCP portion of your account.

So really what you need to turn off GCP for users and here are the instructions for that:

This might be a concern regarding combining the accounts you use for email with cloud access. If someone is logged in reading their email, can someone jump over and start creating cloud resources? Something to think about…
