What’s Exciting: “It’s the Bottom of the Ladder That’s Crowded, Not the Top”

One of the most influential writers and philosophers I’ve enjoyed reading for many years is a gentleman by the name of Jim Rohn. Mr. Rohn passed away in 2009, but his words still resonate with millions of loyal fans and followers.

One of his many quotes was centered around economic opportunity in America, but I believe it applies to every country and individual who enjoys freedom and has aspirations to improve their financial standing. That quote is:

“America is unique because it offers you an economic ladder to climb. And here’s what’s exciting: It is the bottom of the ladder that is crowded, not the top.”

As we begin a new year, I’d like to share with you six of Jim Rohn’s principles of success that can help propel your success and earnings this coming year. These quotes are from “The Treasury of Quotes” by Jim Rohn.*

Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.

While success means different things to different people, I believe these six points apply to whatever type of success you’re seeking, whether it be financial, health, relationship, or spiritual.

Most of us have a higher-than-normal level of motivation at the beginning of the year, but I agree with Mr. Rohn’s maxim that “Education must precede motivation.”

Become more educated this year about yourself, your friends and family, your industry, your career…about life.
