Abstract

The poem "Climb The Wall" by America Zed uses the metaphor of scaling a wall to convey the journey of overcoming challenges and reaching a state of liberation and self-discovery. The author encourages the reader to envision themselves without reliance on external help, finding their own grip towards freedom while their mind aspires to greater heights. As one nears the peak of the wall, the structure begins to disintegrate, symbolizing the breaking down of barriers. The poem concludes by likening the achieved side of the wall to a form of heaven, where love and togetherness prevail, inviting the reader to join in this realm of understanding and connection.

Climb The Wall

Poetry of courage

*

Imagine you climb the wall, We know there are no ladders And you must help yourself.

Imagine you find a grip, A way out to freedom Your mind somewhere else.

Pretend you can see my eyes, The strong feeling that’s shining, has powered through this life.

Pretend you reach my state, It may take forever, But you won’t be too late.

And once you are more than half way over, The wall will start to crumble on the earth.

And move you in a way that makes you want to stay.

On this side of heaven

We are a work of love.
