Summary

The web content discusses the influence of historical imperialism and colonialism on modern social structures, highlighting the persistence of class divisions derived from feudal and tribal systems.

Abstract

The article titled "Classification And the Problems in the Social Structure of Society" explores the complex layers of society's organization, which are deeply rooted in historical power dynamics. It emphasizes that the social structure, shaped by both ideological and practical aspects, is a reflection of past imperialist and colonist eras, particularly evident in the cultural continuity from European feudalism to regions such as Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The persistence of feudal and tribal systems contributes to the class divisions observed today, manifesting in both horizontal and vertical class structures within society. The author suggests that political independence alone is insufficient for social and cultural progress, as long as these deep-seated social divisions remain unchallenged.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the current social structure is a direct consequence of historical imperialism and colonialism, particularly noting the influence of European feudal culture on other regions.
  • It is implied that the non-interference between feudal and tribal social divisions is a significant factor in the perpetuation of class division.
  • The author seems to advocate for a transformation of the fundamental social structure, which has been carried over from former colonies.
  • There is an underlying critique of the notion that political independence is enough for societal development, suggesting that more profound changes are necessary.

There are internal (ideological) and external (practical) aspects of society in a culture. It is organized and constitutes a social structure. The interdependence of cultures gives rise to social problems. It is not easily modified. This social structure is linked back to the imperialist and colonist eras like European feudal culture is reflected in Asia, Africa, and Latin. The rest of the ruler areas follow the tribal system. The social and cultural development will remain the same till political independence. The non-interference of both social divisions, feudal and tribal, gives rise to class division. Now we can see the horizontal and vertical class structures in society. It is the fundamental social structure transformed from former colonies.
