Civil War…Really?

Week 4: Rumor has it that Civil War is bad for business. That’s one reason why we need to stop this war before it starts.

Every week I write about why Civil War in the U.S. is a horrible idea and, most importantly, why war is not inevitable.

Americans started to believe a lot of cynical garbage, including the idea that our elections are no longer free and fair. Cynicism is a problem we can solve.

Republican leaders that believe that our last election was free and fair need to step out of the shadows and speak up. Leaders like Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and Mike Rounds cannot do it alone, but without them, we will never make it back to solid ground as a country.

“Civil war is bad for business.” — Thomas Friedman, Journalist

The crazy truth is that because large corporations have had their hands in the pie for too long, they have messed up the recipe. The reason this is crazy is that WAR IS BAD FOR BUSINESS. Why won’t corporations quit meddling when they are destroying their primary source of income? Why would you want to blow up the second-largest economy on earth?

All American people must take control of the negative, hateful dialogue, even in our own homes, and especially the reason crushing negativity that we are all carrying in our brains. It’s time we snap out of it!

When we give in to fear, we begin to crumble and fade as individuals and as a nation.

We have become afraid.

Galatians 5:22–23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Fear is not a fruit of the spirit. I submit to the spiritually minded that this fear comes from an evil place and not the political party that you don’t like.

We must fight this fear, and we must work together. Even the act of building hope and encouraging another is fighting the fear.

An article in The Guardian makes some excellent points, including the idea that divisions are willfully exacerbated by right-wing broadcast and online media, bloggers, and internet trolls.

They all do it for money.

Americans believe in the fundamental right to create your own business and get filthy rich. Even this Democrat believes in that! I want to make money (hence the side hustle as a writer) but not at the expense of my country!

We need to get corporate money out of our political system.

The time has come for us to start asking big questions and connecting with our fellow humans instead of the media. The time has come for us to start speaking up, telling the truth, and facing our fears without flinching.

Civil War is NOT inevitable. Let’s hope and dream for something better. If anyone can turn this ship around, it’s us.
