Chuck Lorre

And Young Sheldon

Picture of Young Sheldon — Wikipedia

I spent the afternoon, and it looks like the early evening today watching Young Sheldon. There are five seasons, and it is on Netflix. I was a great fan of the Big Bang Theory, and when Young Sheldon started being aired, I was right there to watch it. This all happened back in the days when we still had television. Eventually, it all went to pot, and we got cable where I no longer got to watch either of those shows. Anyway, I was thrilled to see this one, and I’ve been sitting here watching the first 11 episodes. Yeah, couch butt.

Anyway, I love the vanity cards Chuck Lorre always puts at the ends of these shows. When we had television, you had to read really fast, and I would usually not be able to see the whole card. Even so, I enjoyed what I was able to see. Once we got cable, I was able to pause and do rewinds.

So, I’m sitting here this afternoon wondering if Chuck Lorre was dead and maybe I could talk to him. I wasn’t getting any help from Spirit, so I gave up and continued watching.

Then, at 7 pm, my husband got home and got control of the channel changer, and we started watching his favorite shows on YouTube. He likes people who do metal detecting. I moved operations back to the study to watch more Young Sheldon episodes.

But because I was now watching on my computer, I thought to myself to go look up and see when Chuck Lorre had passed on. Could have knocked me over with a feather when Google said not only wasn’t he dead, but he was 71 years old and was born in 1952. I thought to myself, “That can’t be right. I was born in 1955, and I’m only 68 years old.” Well, I don’t know what it is about brain cells, but I’ve always had a bit of trouble remembering how old I am. Doing the math, sure enough, Chuck is three years older than I am, and yes, Pauline, he was born in 1952. That means that I will be 71 years old three years from now.

Maybe I should just write him a fan letter to read while he is still alive.

Thanks for reading.
