lluminated the entire room. Magical trees surrounded the lake and were fused by deep rainbow colors.

The lake flowed through them right up to their crowns and they drenched the lake with their colour. Large glowing crystals stood at the edge of the lake close to the trees and it seemed as if they were the powerhouses of everything. They were not rigid and solid like on Earth but pulsated at their frequency. Their inner life was so beautiful that you could gaze into them for hours, fascinated, seeing more and more worlds and forces that all merged into one another and merged with the surroundings of the lake.

All around the lake were moon wells, which were animated by a particularly large number of fairies. A mystical, glittering mist rose from them. They were decorated with beautiful ornaments and each moon well told its own story. Each one symbolized a certain magical power. Their clear waters were a mirror and also a gateway for the soul.

“Before you can go to your moon well, you must purify yourself in the sacred lake,” a fairy spoke to him. She dimmed her light and sat down on a stone near the walker. “You’re on your way to the Fairy Queen, aren’t you?”

“Yes… and I have seen many unexplainable things, and now I am talking to a fairy. What does the sacred lake do to me when I go into it?”

The fairy looked at him with her sparkling eyes and a loving and tender face: “The lake will restore your cells with the power of the source. But to do so, many cells in you must die.”

“Die inside me?” the walker stumbled. “That sounds painful, isn’t there any other way?”

“Have you ever died before and can you remember what it feels like?” the fairy replied.

“No… but we humans don’t hear good things about it. Most of us are so afraid of death that we can’t live in joy.”

“Oh, I’m sorry about that…” the fairy said to him sadly. “You know, we fairies look forward to death so much that we sometimes forget about life. Paradoxically, we are probably more similar than we thought, but we are also very different. Zahyu, as I see it, you are afraid of the unknown. And now you have the rare opportunity to finally explore the unknown in more detail, you should be happy about that! Especially as it is a great honor for a human to be allowed to enter the sacred lake.”

“Humans? Have other people been to this place before me? And why can’t everyone go in?”

“Yes, many people have been here, but most of them have buried the truth of this place in their souls and forgotten it. They say it was just their imagination, which is not real. Humans think they can so easily make judgments about what is real and what is not… humans…”

“I ask you again: Why aren’t all humans allowed in the lake?”

The fairy looked at him with a sad but hopeful expression:

“I’d better say, they can’t enter it yet, because…”

“Because… ???” the walker insisted.

“Because they can’t let go of their pain yet. They love their pain, even if they often no longer know its origin… Zahyu, but you should not think of the pain that binds your spirit, you hear. You should immerse yourself in the love of life. Everything else is a waste of time. For eternity knows no pain. Remember my words when you are in the lake, Zahyu, because you have a task to fulfill that is far too important for you to think about your pain.”

“What task?!”

But with those words, the fairy suddenly disappeared back into the vast space, leaving behind a glittering cloud that cheered his soul. While the walker lingered with the Keeper of the Grove, he forgot space and time. Night fell, but the keeper radiated even brighter in his fullness, unaffected by the darkness. The keeper looked at the walker with his two full moon eyes and said: “Go now the way of your soul, without fear and doubt. And know now: Your home is always within you.” Then he closed his eyes again.

Many small glowing dots now flew out of the keeper’s emerald heart. It was as if parts had been detached from the keeper and were now whizzing around everywhere. They were fairies, flying towards the walker with enchanting faces and fairytale sounds.

“Swwwwish… ishhhha…” their sounds rang out like sparks that went straight to the walker’s heart. “Zahyu, follow us through the night, we will take you to our queen, she can fulfill your wish.”

The walker followed them through the night of the forest, accompanied by his owl Elura, who flew near to him along the trees and stayed at a distance. “Why can’t you take me to the Fairy Queen?“ The walker asked Elura. “Because the fairies are a mirror of your desires, and I am a mirror of your shadows. I can lead you to your fears and their resolution, but the Fairy Queen can fulfill your wish. No one but the chosen fairies and the source knows where the Fairy Queen resides. She does not exist in a fixed place.”

So the walker followed the shining fairies through the dark forest. His moonstone served as a compass, as it reflected the fairies’ light when he pointed it in their direction. But then the fairies’ light went out and he could barely see his hands in front of his eyes in the darkness. It was a new moon and the sky was covered in dark clouds. Now the walker only had his moonstone and Elura by his side.

“Where should I go? My moonstone only shines faintly and keeps changing the direction it shines towards,“ he asked Elura in the room, who replied: “You should rather ask yourself, where you want to go.”

The walker stood still. He remembered the words of the Keeper of the Grove that his home was within himself. But the question of how he could be aware of this home did not leave him. How could he live in such abundance as the Keeper? How could he become such a noble being when he had spent most of his life in fear and doubt? The most valuable thing he had received in his life was this moonstone in his hands. And now it has stopped glowing too.

Then Elura spoke to him from a nearby tree: “The Fairy Queen had once given this moonstone to the night elves so that it could always guide them to her. It reflects the light of the source that is within you. It shows you the world that is meant for your soul. Because the fairies radiate the light of the source strongly, the moonstone shines in their direction. But it could also shine in your direction.”

The walker now paused and held the moonstone firmly in his hands, looking at it. He saw how his face slowly began to be reflected in it. He was surprised, for he did not see his usual face, but it looked like half a human face and half a dragon face. It looked at him with large, deep brown eyes. Then a mighty voice calls out from the stone as if echoing through the whole forest in a deep tone into the boundless: “Realize your essence, Zahyu, Mother Earth needs you!”

It was a voice that could not be contradicted. There was such certainty and determination in it that Zahyu’s heart was fully touched by this call. It was the call of an ancient covenant between humans and dragons that only pure hearts can hear.

Now the moonstone in his hands began to glow again with a bluish glow in its depths. The fairies also began to buzz around in their luminosity again and flew directly into the moonstone from a distance, while the words rang out: “Follow us to the Fairy Queen!”

The walker was astonished at what had just happened. He had never seen any creatures disappear into a stone before. But how was he supposed to follow them now? Magical fairies can do that, he thought to himself, but him?

“Haven’t you already seen yourself in it,” Elura called out to him. “Yes, but… I don’t know how to get inside,” he replied. “Like the first time. Just look into it and recognize its meaning for you. Recognize yourself in its depths. Immerse yourself in it and remember who you are.”

Then the walker looked into his moonstone once more. And again he saw half the dragon’s face. But this time he also saw the glowing fairies buzzing around, catching his gaze. They flew deeper and deeper into the crystal layers of the moonstone. He saw them flying through a magical forest, he followed their flight deeper and deeper, and slowly felt so strongly drawn to them that he had the feeling that his body and soul were turning into a bluish-purple glowing light and being drawn into the moonstone. The walker surrendered to this power and allowed himself to be drawn into it.

He dived into a deep world still unknown to him, but everything felt very familiar and fulfilling. He had never felt so connected to life before. It was as if everything there was inseparable. Bright, living trees arched towards him and let a revitalizing light flow into him. All melancholy and doubt flowed away from him through the trees to their roots and transformed into a part of the shining moonstone. As if through a thousand galaxies, the walker now moved towards a bright, light blue turquoise lake. Glowing fairies rose up and down from the lake and buzzed across its surface together with thousands of fireflies, whose regularly flickering light illuminated the entire room.

But with those words, the fairy suddenly disappeared back into the vast space, leaving behind a glittering cloud that cheered his soul. He took a few deep breaths, hoping to soak up some of the fairy glitter. He lingered in his seat for a while longer, gazing out over the lake.

He walked further into the lake. And the lake began to envelop him with its luminous, loving water. It was as if the water was carrying all its vibrant fullness from the trees and crystals and were transferring it to him. As if the water simply flowed through his skin into his heart. And without him realizing it, his shadows lost their meaning in the fullness of the sacred lake. -

For a moment, he swapped completely under the lake and saw brightly colored fishes swimming in it. Each of them trailed a marvelous tail behind them. This tail also seemed to merge with the water to form a single mass. He was filled with primal love and innocence. The underwater world of the lake had touched him deeply. And yet, deep inside him, the question circled as the meaning of it all: How could he help Mother Earth? Suggesting, he gazed at the wondrous beauty of the lake underwater.

Then the Fairy Queen suddenly appeared in front of him. She was of enchanting beauty and innocence. Her splendor and radiance were of such childlike joy that he was overwhelmed. He knew without a doubt that it was the Fairy Queen, even though he had never seen her before. Her ethereal body was filled with the vitality of the sacred lake. The streams of color from the trees, crystals, and fishes all seemed to flow to her and permeate her form. He saw his moonstone glowing, he saw the eyes of Nyla, he saw the grace of the giant white wolf, and the galaxies shining in Elura. He saw the sacred lake and the glowing trees, crystals, colorful fishes, and enchanting fairies. And he could still feel the power of the heavenly fruits he had just eaten. He saw the guardian of the grove, he saw himself and all the love that surrounded and permeated him.

And suddenly he realized what his task was:

To protect the sacred beauty of Mother Earth at all costs. ‘Mother Earth must not be destroyed, because all the beauty of existence is gathered in it,’ he thought to himself.

“So this is my wish, beautiful Fairy Queen: Take me to the Guardians of Mother Earth, to the creatures who breathe into her soul and protect her, because I want to be one of them.”

The Fairy Queen looked at him with a happy and contented smile and said:

“That is why we all call you Zahyu, soon you will understand it even better.”

“We now resign you to your fate, so be it!

With this magical spell, she whirled her wings, sending glittering fairy dust swirling through the air and the trees rustling to her words.

The fairies gathered around the moon well next to the Fairy Queen. A very special magic and attraction emanated from it. She was surrounded by glittering and shining little creatures.
