Summary
The Phoenix Suns are waiving Chris Paul, a move that suggests they may be planning to bring in another superstar for the upcoming season.
Abstract
The Phoenix Suns have announced their decision to waive Chris Paul, a 38-year-old point guard who is past his prime. The lack of interest from other teams in trading for Paul indicates that his age and declining performance have made him a less attractive prospect. This move by the Suns has sparked speculation that they are planning to make significant changes to their roster, possibly with the intention of building around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The article suggests that the Suns may be looking to bring in James Harden, another high-profile player who has struggled to win a championship in recent years. The author also notes that Chris Paul's departure could signal the end of De'Andre Ayton's time in Phoenix. The article concludes with a warning to NBA organizations about the risks of signing players over the age of 35 to expensive contracts.
Bullet points
It was announced yesterday that the Phoenix Suns are going to waive Chris Paul. Apparently there aren’t any teams willing to trade away their future for a 38 year old past his prime.

This move by the Suns leads me to believe they’re about to have one hell of an offseason. They wouldn’t just waive CP3 unless they had another superstar ready to play in Phoenix. It’s clear that they want to build around KD and Devin Booker. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see De’Andre Ayton leave Phoenix in the same way.

A good rule of thumb that every NBA organization should follow: If a player is 35 years old or above, and they don’t have a championship ring on their finger, DON’T SIGN THEM TO A $100 MILLION+ DEAL. If they couldn’t get it done before, they sure as hell won’t get it done now. I’m sure there’s some outliers that have had success, but those are few and far between.
So where does CP3 go from here? And what does this mean for the Suns?
Most of the rumors floating around say the Suns may be looking to bring in James Harden. As a Sixers fan and former James Harden STAN, I love this move for Phoenix. Think about it … they’re getting rid of a point guard that’s a few years past his prime, who flops for fouls, and can’t win a championship to save his life. And they’re replacing him with — oh wait.

I still think they should do it. And as for CP3, I’m sure Dwight Howard will be reaching out to you shortly.
